Reviews
I have purchased 8 of this headset at this time. I have given them to many of my staff members to increase the safefy of driving and talking as we do. I have also given them as gifts to friends and loved ones. It works very well. It is loud enough to overcome noicey enviroments and has good noice canceling so the folks on the other end can hear you clearly. I tried four other headsets before falling in love with this one. Great product and AMAZON has a great price at $43.00 with freight.
Try it I think you will be glad you did.
I bought this after trying a Motorola H-700. I couldn't get sufficient volume out of the H-700 to be able to hear in noisy environments. The Plantronics is much louder and also has better noise cancelling. I can talk while on a train or in an airport and people tell me they can barely hear the backgroun noise. Wind noise can be a problem, even though Plantronics advertises that the microphone cuts wind noise. I haven't tried the foam windscreens that I've seen for sale, just the bare microphone.

Although this headset looks larger than the H-700, it folds flat and actually fits better in a shirt pocket. It fits perfectly in a metal Altoids box, which makes a nearly bullet-proof carrying case. It's not very heavy, and the weight is slung behind your ear close to your head. For me, it was much more comforatble and secure than the Motorola, even though slightly larger in size.

I use this heaset with both my BlackBerry and with a Plantronics base station that hooks up to my office phone. It connects to both devices simultaneously. I can answer or initiate calls on either phone from the headset. I sometimes wear it 6 hours per day with no discomfort.

The buttons are a little hard to work at first but I've gotten use to it. The power button has a sharp little point on it that allows you to feel where it is at. Volume buttons are harder to find by feel, but I don't usually need to mess with the volume.
I've been using this for almost a year now, so I think that I can give a fair review. This is a fairly expensive and fairly old design, but it remains this way for a reason. I had used three different bluetooth headsets prior to the Plantronics, and had been disappointed with the pairing, sound quality (talking and listening), and comfort. The 510 addresses all those problems.
Pairing: I have used this with three different cell phones (Moto PEBL, Samsung D-600, Cingular (AT&T) 8525 (aka HTC Excalibur). All three were able to pair without difficulty and stay connected. I have had occasional (very rare) drops with the 8525, but that is the exception, not the rule.
Sound quality: Best I have used. Nobody ever asks "are you on a headset"? I saw that some reviewers have complained about wind noise: I haven't had any problems or complaints. The noise cancellation appears to work very well.
Comfort: I can wear this for hours without a problem. I normally don't (keep it in my pocket) but when driving it is reasonably comfortable. The over the ear design may be a problem for some eyeglass wearers. The earpiece is padded, and provides for some sound isolation and comfort. The over the ear design is very sturdy: unlike some other designes that I have used it doesn't feel like this is going to fall off your ear at any minute.

I gave this 5 stars because it is the best that you can find. That doesn't mean it is without faults:
1) It is kind of large, and the boom mike is obtrusive. I think that this is unavoidable if good sound quality is desired. I don't think the small, cute BT earpieces work worth a damn.
2) Since this usually lives in my pocket I've discovered that the silver pain on the plastic chips easily. Oh well.
3) The little foam earpiece tends to come off. I've almost lost it twice. You can use the unit without (seems to work OK), but I don't think you would be able to hear as well.
4) I'm worried about the charger adapter. It is an odd looking design, and I'm afraid that the adapter is going to conk out. Hasn't yet though.

If you are interested in sound quality, buy this.
I have owned this for a few months and think the sound quality and comfort are great. Two things that would make it better are that it should have a standard usb charger..right now it has a totally unique charger. The second is that the button you press to make the bluetooth connection is too small and hard to press.
Pros:
-Able to connect to multiple phones all at once
-Great sound quality
-Once you complete the links, it's automatically recognized by phones when powered on

Cons:
-Pick up a lot of unwanted background noise (Ex: paper ruffling, running water, etc.) instead of just your voice
-Bulky relative to other bluetooth headsets
-Relatively more expenstive than competing brands

Paid $42 on Amazon in Nov 2007. It doesn't look like the price is dropping any time soon. I would wait

Love the headset. Then only thing is that is not that comfortable when using it.. It has excellent reception and the clarity is outstanding. Must buy..
I have owned other bluetooth headsets but this one has delivered the best transmission quailty. I can be heard with limited background noise and I can hear the callers clearly. For the price, you just can't beat it.
This is one of the easiest to use. I have boughten a few bluetooth, but this one is the best. I lost my other one, so I just replaced this one.
As always, ordered and delivered promptly, on time. The ear piece fits well and is comfortable. The sound is good and I am very pleased with it.
This is the second of these I have owned and have been pleased with it. I use it with a blackberry Pearl. It was very easy to pair and has good sound and no reports of echo from callers on the other end. I really like the boom with the option to flip it up and turn the device off. It fits well but I have big ears. The volme could be easier to control but overall a great product. It came with a home charger and all the manuals. I would definitely recommend this product.
The "over the ear" rubber arm attaches to the main body via a swivel mechanism. That mechanism does NOT allow the rubber arm to swing out, but rather, it allows it to only rotate (like a ferris wheel). Because of that limited range of motion, the hinge can easily break (which it did in my case). Too bad, because the sound and range were great.
This little guy gets the job done. Comfortable on my ear and a great battery life.
Great sound quality: crisp and crystal clear. Bluetooth is fairly easy to manipulate even though I have big hands. At this price, it's a steal. My only complaint is that it doesn't fit well on my ear. If they had made the ear loop another 1/4", I would give it 5 stars. It does not feel exactly right, and ends up irritating my ear if I wear it for extended periods of time.
This is my first bluetooth headset and am using it with my Sony Ericsson W810i. Sound quality is excellent. It even works when I am in one corner of my house and my cell phone is in the other corner. Mind you at this point there is a little bit of static. But, it still works. During driving, the sound quality is excellent and with voice commands configured on my cell phone, incoming and outgoing calls have become a breeze while I concentrate on my driving.

It does hurt my ear a little bit if I wear it for a long time. I mostly tend not to, so I have still given it 5 stars.
I love the bluetooth, it is so nice not to have a wire hanging from my ear or an earbud that falls out. It is also safer than the other devices that I have used. I would recommend to anyone because of the value and safety of this product.
First of all I just want to say, this low cost Bluetooth headset is a great value. There are a lot of Bluetooth heasets to choose from on the market today. Many are more stylish and have more bells and whistles, but for under $30.00 this headset is one of the best values out there. This pink version is very cute and offers a perfect color match for the Versizon V3 series Motorola Pink Razr. However, I believe the gentle pink color is the only stylish element of this headset. Take away the pink and you are left with a very generic looking earpiece.

Now lets talk about performance. The H500 couldn't be eaiser to use. It paired with my daughter's Verizon Motorola Pink Razr in just seconds, and the button configuration of this unit makes perfect sense. The buttons have gentle action yet offer a satisfying "click" feel when pushing them; not mushy feeling at all. The sound quality of the speaker is quite good but not acceptional. The voice quality of the microphone is very impressive. When I am on the phone with my daughter, she actually sounds much better with this headset than when using the Razr phone alone. It does tend to pickup a great deal of background noise though, so it may not be the best in noisey environments. The H500 sits in a very stable manner on my daughters ear. The ear hook is soft and flexible and can be worn for extended periods without discomfort. It does not look or feel as if it will fall off your ear even when tipping your head.

I am giving this headset a full 5 stars. I do not rate the H500 so highly for its outstanding style, but rather for its simple functionality, solid performance, great build quality and overall value for the money. You just can't get a better Bluetooth headset for under $30.00! I highly recommend this headset for any woman that is looking for a cute color match to her Verizon Moto Razr, while also seeking a comfortable fit and impressive performance. There may be better looking headsets out there, but you'll likely suffer penalties in cost and/or performance.
Not sure why those other folks just got it in a bag. I received a brand new Motorola package. It actually looks newer than the one pictured here.It even came with a Razr cell phone case in the package. haven't let my wife use it yet since it is for Christmas, but it looks like it will do the job just fine.
This unit comes in an OLD plastic bag, like it was USED. Could they have at least got a new plastic bag? The picture shows it in a nice package, I think Amazon are selling used? The twist tie looked like someone just put it on there themselves, it was not packaged at any factory.

1 of 2 of these units worked, the other unit was DOA. Amazon refused to send me out another headset, saying I just had to send it back and order it myself and pay for shipping again. I hate when a company makes a mistake and passes the buck on to the consumer, I am the one buying your products, why are you trying to give me the short end of the stick. Amazon has really seemed to take a dive lately in the Cust. Service department.

I have no idea what they mean by "Motorola Retail Packaging", but beware it is not the same as the picture on the website. I received this headset loose in a plastic bag, along with the instructions and the charger. The charger had been ripped out of it's bag and used (the cord had obviously been re-wrapped and secured with a grocery store bag tie).

When I complained to Amazon about receiving used merchandise, they immediately sent a replacement via overnight, but the customer service person could have cared a less as to why Amazon is selling used/returned merchandise.

I just received the replacement today. While it doesn't look used, it too is just in a plastic baggie - no packaging like the webite shows. I bought this as a Christmas present for my wife (to go with her pink Razr) - I'm sure she is going to be very impressed with the plastic baggie packaging. I sure hope it works better than it looks! Really bad, Amazon, really bad.
I love pink so was thrilled when I saw this product. Thats where my happiness ends. The earlpiece does not lay flat against my ear. The person on the other end of the phone gets a lot of static/wind noise etc.
I would return it if I could.
This product is good...battery life is great, the only problem is voice recognition does not always work...so I have to dial from the phone instead of via the bluetooth. Other than that...it's great.
Can't figure it out! It beeps and
1 - the pretty blue light goes away - Is it on a "screensaver" mode?
2 - Did that beep mean needs charge? Color stays the same then it dies :-(
3 - A call is coming in, press button nothing, press longer - turns off - Aargh! call went to voicemail.
4 - Pick up a call....It's disconnected from the phone!!! How did that happen?
This device seems awkward on the ear and I really haven't figured out all it's function so I am going back to the manual. On a very good note - when I get it going - quality sound! That's why I bought it in the first place! Yippee!
Overall I think if the blue light could turn different simple 2 - 3 colors like red when needs a charge or yellow on stand by - It would be a 5+!

This blue tooth works fine except that every two weeks or so you have to re sync it to your phone. I use a Sprint Palm and for some reason it drops the link. No Biggie. GREAT sound quality.
I've owned this headset for over a year now. I use it every time I'm in my car driving anywhere. I don't have any problem hearing people on the other end. However, everyone I've spoken to while using the H500 has complained about words being dropped (whole sentences even). I can't drive with a window cracked because the road noise transmits so loudly people can't hear what I'm saying. I'm actually on amazon right now looking for something better.
I got this home, plugged it in and nothing. Charged for hours, dead as a brick and dead on arival.

So, thinking it is not a problem, I call Amazon, they tell me that they are "sold out", and can not send me a replacement. However, as you see above they are not "sold out" and that is a lie, the issue is that the price went up by a few dollars on these units and Amazon will not send me out a replacement now. I must send it back, and order it just like anyone else would and pay extra for the shipping on a new item. It is funny how the issue was something Amazon did, yet ,I have to pay the cost.

I usually buy things from Amazon in sets of 4 or 5, so I can save on the free shipping. Now, I am stuck between a rock and a hard place because if I send this back, then order another on I have to pay not only more for the item, but also pay shipping because my order would not qualify for it.

I can understand a DOA device, but I don't understand when Amazon customer service passes the buck to the customer when it is clearly an error they should resolve.

I think I will now only buy from Amazon as a last resort, buyer beware...
A good friend and his wife have the Wep 200 Bluetooth headset and spoke highly of it. I'd been using a Motorola headset with noise canceling and everyone asked me if I was under water while talking. Now if I ask how I sound, people tell me it sounds as though I'm on my home phone. Vast improvement! It's light weight, fits well in my ear, and maintains a much longer charge than the Motorola. The only thing that's a little difficult is the charger box takes some practice to open. I paid about $30 for it vs. the $90 I paid for the other headset.
I've owned 3 Bluetooth headset devices from Nokia, Logitech and Motorola. All had their strengths (Well the Motorola HS850 was just an expensive pain.) but I was never fully satisfied with their performance. I found the Samsung WEP200 after just doing some Amazon browsing and decided to give it a shot since it was so inexpensive.

When I got it I found it to be just great; it was very small and light, clairity of calls was great, volume was good, decent amount of resistance to wind noise, paired with my phone easily enough and didn't drop its connection once established. The problem was that the ear pad on the device just wouldn't fit in my ear without having the device falling out every 30 seconds or so. No matter how many times I jammed the little bugger in my ear it would always fall out. There goes 'hands free' operation.

I read some reviews here stating that some people were having the same issue and they purchased some Jabra EarGels to rectify the problem. I did the same and this seems to have solved the issue. I would SERIOUSLY recommend purchasing Jabra EarGels in tandem with buying this headset, otherwise you may not be able to get this headset to fit and experience the same problem me and other reviewers have experienced.
works as advertised. caution.. dont forget its in your ear.. it can fall out and you may not realize it. dont like the ear hook. i have mine attached to a long and very light necklace. if it falls out i cant loose it. volume very good. very light. easy to use controls. connected to my cell phone like a charm.. very simple to use and get connected. i am old so i appreciate it. new law comin in calif next year. may as well as used to it now.
I do like the overall quality of the handset but it has a big flaw, it seems to be a half-duplex device, it means that the sound can only travel in onde direction at the same time so when the person on the other side of the line is talking or making noises he/she won't be able to hear what I'm saying. The biggest problem comes when the other person is in a noisy environment, in that case the person on the other side of the line won't be able to understand anything I say.
It looks awesome with the size and it's design. Also the soundquality is the best one that I had so far (probably owned 4 other bluetooth headsets). The only thing is that I can't really make it sit comfortably in my ear. Tried all sizes and positions. It always falls off my ear after a couple of minutes.
three stars is about right for this product. i am using it with a Samsung Bluetooth MP3 player and the audio once you tweek it a bit is ok for listening to those MP3's in the gym. The fit is good and after an hour of excercise they are not uncomfortable. the range is very good and it connects line of sight out to ten meters without a problem. the down side is the charger is 110 volts only and if you travel overseas then you will need a converter. hard to believe when all the other chargers are universal this one is 110 volts the other thing which is annoying is that most of the new products are going to USB charging so you can carry one charger and it is not the case here. means if you travel you have to lug around yet another charger. the instruction manual says there is a red charging light, mine is grey/white and took me a while to figure out there really is no red charging light. so far syncing bluetooth is not completely automatic but i am still working on it. also when i used this headset on my hp ipaq companion and coreplayer i would get occasional hiccups in the audio and this has not been the case with the samsung. bottom line is three stars is about right, does the job but far from perfect.
Having gone through 2 pairs of Motorola S9 (which failed due to their touch controls defect that is fairly well documented in their comments section) and 2 pairs of Nokia BH-501s (one had a bad battery and the other one snapped near the ear), these headphones have been amazing, so far. Easy to use controls, reliable performance, long battery life.

They are not 5 star worthy though, because although they fold nicely, they don't fold into something that you can throw in your briefcase/backpack and not worry about. They could still be pressed and snapped. Also, after 2 hours of snowshoeing with them, my ears started to hurt.
Pros:
Good construction
pairing
battery life

Cons:
even though the volume can be set to loud, you still hear too much ambient noise while listening to music.

Conclusion:
If you don't mind hearing everything else while you are listening to music, these are excellent headphones.
I have had these for about a month.

Things I like:
-Comfortable, at least much more so than the Moto S9's and the Bluetrek ST1
-Decent sound quality with a fairly flat response, but can still be EQ'd to your taste. IE, the low end doesn't distort or whimp out if you boost it with an EQ.
-Phone calls come through in stereo
-Caller can hear me fine in a normal speaking voice
-Better battery life than most competitors
-Nice that they fold, but I pretty much keep them at work
-They block out most, but not all sound so I can still hear people come up behind me, the phone ring, etc
-Buttons are easy to use and have a good tactile response and "seperate" feel. The motos have this touch snsitive thing going on, and it is hard to tell when your htting the right button. The Sony's have a different type of rocker for volume vs track advance/pause, so it is easy to tell which one you are touching.

Things I don't like:
-A bit finicky when pairing, especially when using it with more than 1 source. For instance, if I use it with my laptop then go to use it with my PDA Phone, I have to "trick" it into reconnecting by first calling a phone number. This may not be true for all phones though.
-Not snug enough to wear while running / working out.
-Take longer to charge than most.. more then 2 hours, although it is rare they run out mid day and I can usually time it so I charge them over night.

So I am stuck with the problem :) of having to use my Moto S9s for workouts and these for work. Actually this winds up working out quite well because while the Moto's are better at fitting snugly for work outs and block out more noise (like the huffer on the treadmill next to you), they make my ears sore after more than an hour or so.

However, while these are the best I've tried yet and the downsides are not all that much of an annoyance, they are still not a "top of the line" set of headphones such as the high end corded phones. I find this to be a bit like a good quality TV though. When you look at a better one side by side with an inferior one, you'll notice the difference but if the inferior one is equal to or better then what you were previously used to (like upgrading to HDTV from standard), you probably won't be disappointed with what an expert would consider inferior.

On a final note, these are susceptible to radio interference like any other wireless device and I do get occasional skips. Again, this is no more frequent than any other BT model I've tried and seems to be much less of a problem with the newer BT 2.0 transmitters.
The headset did not fit very well, they just did not work for me so I returned them immediately. They felt like they were falling off all of the time and did not fit tight to my ears. I cannot comment on their performance, I never even tried to get them to work with my laptop or phone because I could not stand the way they felt on my head.
The Logitech Bluetooth headset that I had been using for 2 years broke and while waiting for the replacement part from Logitech I ordered this inexpensive Motorola for the meantime.
In my opinion it sounds much better then the Logitech, my callers said it sounds MUCH better on the other end, and it's smaller, lighter, and easier to put on/off.

It was also half the price of the Logitech. I can't imagine that the customer support is even close. Logitech has been by far the best company that I've had dealings with, but its just over $20! Great, and even better for the price!
I was looking for something to hold my Voyager in the car. Clipping this case to the sunvisor does the job nicely. I don't think it would hold it too securly on your belt.
The headset fits into the case quite nicely, but it clips onto your belt. If you already have a cell phone clipped to your belt, you don't need your headset clipped there as well. You just end up looking ridiculous. I would have liked it better if it was a case that would protect the headset from being damaged while in your pocket. As you can tell, my gripe is more with the placement of the case than with its quality, which is rather decent. I just don't want to look like Batman with a utility belt.
This is a great toy, I love how it fits my earpiece and attaches securly to my purse. I don't have to worry about buttons being pushed while it is in my purse. I love the ability to keep my ear piece safe.
This case is too small for the headset, especially if you use one of the earbuds. And, you have to collapse the headset to put it in. So you have to constantly readjust the setting after you take it out of the case. I think it's a poor design.
Not particularly thrilled. A generic hard case that doesn't appear to protect the piece of equipment I bought it for. Case not shaped well for earpiece and earpiece is exposed at top of case. Earpiece falls out of case. I don't recommend this case for protecting the Plantronics Bluetooth headset.
I immediately bought this headset because I've had heard some rave reviews about it, also it was a specially packaged with the PS3 game WarHawk. Um, try to avoid this headset at all cost because it doesn't work well with Call of Duty 4, additionally it causes minor crashes and its quality is not all that great. It is a good headset but not for the PS3.
First off...I am a techie by trade....I could not get this headset to be recognized by my PS3. Poor product. Avoid this like the plague.... Too bad I can't rank this as ZERO stars.
The sound quality was poor. If you don't mind messing with your headset every round then this headset is for you. I returned it and got a Jabra instead.
I bought this to replace another unit that was hurting my ear (one of those that wrap around and have a small, rubber piece that goes inside your ear...).

It is very light and comfortable to wear and with easy access to volume/answer/end/mute buttons.

Sounds good and holds its charge well. The trade-off between this type and those that wrap around your eat is that the former can flop around if you are leaning to one side and/or jogging/running. But, who talks while doing that? On the other hand, I prefer this kind because nothing enters your ear and they are more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time.

I use mine when sitting at the computer and/or doing other tasks around the house or while driving/walking. It works great in any of those scenarios.
Love this headset! As stated above, I returned the Plantronics model that everybody was raving about. The only model more archaic than the Plantronics 510 would have to be one of those hideous Jabra models :)

The Motorola is the headset I wish I'd bought the 1st time around. It is suprisingly comfortable, and doesn't take long to forget you're wearing it. There is no intrusion into the ear canal, allowing full air circulation and unhampered hearing of your surroundings. The earhook is slim and does not interfere with wearing sunglasses, which is something I can't say about the Plantronics 510.

Pairing was a snap with my Sanyo 7050 Mil-Spec phone.

I was willing to spend more for a headset, however this one meets my needs. I'm happy!
This is the best bluetooth I have owned. Sound is clear and I rarely lose the connection like I have with previous units. Highly recommend it.
i ordered this product expecting a new one(as mentioned), but instead i received a used product, with a flimsy packing. they did not even send me a sales receipt.this product looks like a refurbished one, which was not mentioned intially.otherwise it works ok.
Purchased this headset for use with the PS3 and it works flawlessly with most games. The only issues I have had is with it going to sleep while playing Resistance.
If there was someway to program the headset so that this feature could be turned off it would be nice.
Matches the PS3 in color, and has worked both with my computer and cell phones Bluetooth feature so a very reliable headset.
Good battery life, clear reception, and a great price make this a must buy.
NICE, ELEGANT AND IT WORKS OK. IT'S NOT A GREAT PRODUCT DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE EAR PIECE IS NOT THAT CONFORTABLE AS IT SEEMS.
I only paid $25 for this and that was a total waste of money. It paired with my LG phone just great, but things went downhill from there. Physically, the thing just did not fit. The unit would never seat securely in or on my ear and swung wildly about all the time. Outgoing voice quality was terrible. People universally complained that they couldn't hear me clearly. Even the phone's voice command had trouble making me out. Finally, the unit died an ignoble death after a very short stint in a jacket pocket only a few months after I bought it. It was not visibly damaged, it just simply stopped working. I never made much use of it during that time, so I'd have to say it was pretty shabbily constructed. I'd be wary of any other LG headset after having had this experience.
So this is my third bluetooth and I read all the reviews and I have to agree that this one is very uncomfortable. I have small ears so it doesn't really fit into mine. The sound quality is good on my end but I am told there is an echo on the other end. I was happy witht he price and if my ears were a little bigger maybe I'd be more happy with the product....:-)
Wow, I have absolutely no problems with this headset whatsoever. Clear sound-great range-and most of all its gorgeous. Turns heads all over the place. Man I feel high tech with this thing on. I payed $30.00 off of ebay, but that was a rare deal. Still Amazons price cannot be beat. Buy it, youll love it.
I got this for Cyber Monday for $20 too. I thought I couldn't go wrong for $20. Well, I was wrong--it was twenty dollars completely wasted. I'd feel bad giving this POS away... I could not get the thing to stay put, the boom mike is so bottom-heavy that it won't stay close to my cheek even sitting still! And it pokes out about 3 feet to the side of my head (it seems like it anyway) if I am moving around at all! Almost like it was DESIGNED to get as far away from my voice as possible. But even holding the stupid thing with my hand did not help the sound quality. I got constant complaints that I could not be heard very well.

There are only a couple things saving this from a 1 star rating. First, I did only pay $20 for it. Second, it's a decent quality, just piss-poor design. And three, I liked that when I clicked the button (not due to incoming call), it automatically launched the voice dial menu, so I could really make a call without ever touching my cell phone. I guess that is one of the perks of having the same mfr for both headset and phone. But it fails miserably at it's primary design goal, so I heartily recommend staying away from this product.
I just bought this with my new Cingular phone. I was pretty pleased with it...until I had to charge it. The second or third time I disconnected the charging cord, it pulled off the entire top of the unit and exposed the underlying electronics. I stuck the piece back on, but it now comes off EVERY time I disconnect the charger. I'll be taking this back for a refund or replacement.
If I read correctly, I think the previous reviewer is confused about how the Jawbone works. The Jawbone does not reduce your background noise level. What you hear in the background remains the same regardless of environment. However, the Jawbone does reduce what the person on the other end of the line hears that's in your background. Using the previous reviewer's nightclub environment as an example... whoever he talks to (a) will not hear the nightclub music as loudly and (b) will be able to hear his voice more clearly (as noted by the previous reviewer).
In all honesty, I have been very dissatisfied with my Aliph jawbone. I work in a nightclub and invested in the Jawbone in hopes of the claims of noise reduction being true. I tested it in my car, with moderate stereo volume in the background. There was no reduction in the background noise level with the Jawbone noise reduction on or off. The only difference I noted was a slight improvement in the clarity of my voice. I thought I had a defective one. The same night, I talked to one of our doormen who also had one, but keeps it in his pocket, due to his dissatisfaction with it. Buyers beware, you may be victims of one the best orchestrated scams I have ever seen. [...]. Until then, all I can say is the product DOES NOT reduce background noise, unless maybe you are using very sensitive measuring equipment than can measure DB fractions. Sorry Aliph, thus far it looks like you took this risk and now your busted.
I got a defective purchase item here and am still awaiting the RMA from the seller. Not really a comfortable product to wear. Can't comment on the product as it has never worked to date. But I can say this was a bad buy in that the rig is not very comfortable to wear. I can say look to other products to meet your needs.
I bought these headphones for my 17 year old son 3 months ago and they are what i had hoped. He uses them with his LG chocolate phone and they work very well. Fashion wise they do look like "earmuffs" but having no wire and a microphone as well is super nice. Switches between calls and music with little effort. Hold a charge longer than the phone (when playing music).

Solid technology for the wireless age.
I got these for working out on my tread climber. From the first time I used them I enjoyed the convenience and the sound quality. The functions are great, the ability to pause, skip or repeat songs while in the middle of a workout is extremely nice! I don't know if you have ever tried to change songs on your mp3 player while going full throttle on a tread climber, but lets just say the commercial where the girl flies off the tread mill looking at the guys smoothly shaven face is not completely exaggerated!

Overall I like the headset a lot... the only thing I would change is the volume...it doesn't go quite loud enough on some songs for me while working out.
JABRA is working just great, with my HTC s710. Sound quality is very good, in addition it is cool and wireless! ;)
Product works great. Shifts between music and calls seamlessly. Comfortable to wear. Sound is a lot better than I expected.
I owned this for nearly a year till my toddler flushed it down the loo. Even though I loved it I decided I wanted a change and began my search for another headset. Needless to say after 3months of wire-less phone use I ended up again with the H700.

The main salient point is the open boom to answer the calls. I've never liked the press of the button. It also saves battery life as when i'm not using the phone I close the boom.
Its the only phone I found with this feature.

Great buy. I now have the blue one as I did get tired of the 'gold' color
I was looking for the good bluetooth headset - normal price and good quality. I already had the H700 Motorola and was please with its quality, but there were several issues that I don't like. First of all, it did not fit properly on my ear and the noise after several minutes of use was disturbing. So, when I decided to change the headset I did not look for Motorola H700. Fortunately, my husband gave me for a gift this one (Dolce & Gabbana H700 Bluetooth Headset). He was impressed with the reviews and decided to buy. I want to say that this is the best one that I have! I am not talking about the looking good from outside (however it can be important to someone too), this one has good time of working (I could wear it during the entire day and the battery is enough), the noise is acceptable and the last but not the least, it fits on my ear tightly. I would suggest this product. Good price for such quality.
I did the reseach... read tons of reviews.... Purchased 2 competitors and returned them for full credit....

That's it....
The headset came in a very nice D&G box with all of the needed accessories. It worked great after the initial charging and contiues to work just fine though it can be rather fickle from time to time. If you close the head set it might not work with the phone until plugged back into the wall, that is the worst thing we have encountered with the item otherwise it works great and is very clear.
The H700 Dolce and Gabanna is a great headset and worked right out of the box. Setup was easy and the unit works well. The added plus is that in spite of its gold color it remains more conspicuous than most of the other more bulky units and the volume works sufficiently even in the wind. I have a Palm Treo 755 and was concerned about the compatability. I would buy another in a heartbeat!
I have been really pleased with this blue tooth, it was pretty economical, works really well and looks good too. I definitely recommend it.
this product works well, easy to pair up with my LG CU500 cell phone. you have to speak up when using this though, as people tend to complain that they can't hear me well.

the product looks good and feels comfortable when wearing it.

highly recommended.
I typically never write reviews. But I guess I've never been so dissapointed in a purchae before. The item first arrived in Bulk packaging, the item description is EXTREMELLY misleading!!!

Straight to the point, the headset arrived and the microphone did not work. I could hear out of it but it could not pick up my voice or any noise for that matter. Returning the item for a REFUND ASAP!

Not only was the product defective but Amazon has deliberately mislead me into believing i was getting a fully packaged item. Instead I get bulk packaged junk.
Highs: Very comfy, good sound quality, simple & easy to use, great price
Lows: Arm can crack, lacks features
Bottom Line: If you don't care about features, this bluetooth headset is a steal for $30.
I have had some experience with bluetooth headsets and thought that i would get this one for my Treo 700p based on reviews and affordability.

Well, you get what you pay for with this one. Although it's an ideal size and the fit is good...the reception on the device is crappy. It gives a crackling noise when wearing your phone on the opposite side. The other party can't hear you when the crackling noise is present. You can't use the headset more than 4 feet away from the phone without getting a crackling noise!

As much as battery life, talk time, and style is important to other people...reception is paramount to me. I returned the headset after 3 days of use.
I've found the Motorola Bluetooth Headset Carrying Case to be very handy and of good quality. I carry my headset in my purse, and the velcro strap holds the set securely in place. While in the case, I have no trouble finding it in a large purse nor am I worried about it being damaged.

Robin
if it's not on my ear it's in this case or on the charger. sometimes it slips out, but i just have to check it from time to time. keeps the shiny coating on my motorola earpiece scratch free from not being bumped by things in my pockets.
The case is not what is in the picture. There is no safety strap to hold the ear piece in place. Essentially, it has become an ear piece cover, instead of a functional carrying case. It wasn't very expensive, but it isn't very functional either.
This inside of the case engages the call button just about every time you slide it in. Maybe I was doing something wrong? Who knows? Very disappointing.
This item was not what i expected. The item shows a security strap on the case to keep the bluetooth from falling out. Well it didn't and when i contacted the seller they told me that theres don't have that security strap. I think that is a case of false advertisement! I wouldn't recommend this case unless you want to keep loosing your bluetooth like me!
I have spent hundreds of dollars on Bluetooth headsets over the past few years. It seems as though I am buying a new wireless headset for my cell phone at least once a year. Now that my wife and oldest daughter have Bluetooth enabled cell phones, I find myself buying a new headset every few months. I have tried several makes and models and I have found that I usually prefer the Motorola models the best. The H700 is no dissapointment. I bought this Fire Red model for my wife, to match her new Samsung U470 "Juke" cell phone. The color match isn't perfect (I think the Fire Red is made specifically for the Moto Krazr) but the deep, metalic red is as close as I could find in the Motorola line.

The H700 will impress most people right out of the package. The primary function button (the big button on the face of the unit) is surrounded by a LED lit ring. The cool part is this ring displays several different colors of light; each having its own meaning. When you are charging the headset the LED will be lit a steady Red, if the battery level is less than 80% charged. It will change to a steady Yellow if more than 80% charged. It will turn to a steady Green once the battery is fully charged. The light will be a steady Purple while in pairing mode and will give a slow pulsing Blue color when connected to a call. The Blue pulse is much quicker when in standby mode (not on a call).

The headset can be used on either your left or right ear and is very simple to operate. Pairing this headset with your Bluetooth device is effortless. My favorite feature of this headset is the lack of a power button. That's right, you don't have to remember to turn the headset on or off. To turn it on you simply flip open the boom mic. To shut it off you obviously flip the boom mic back to the closed position. It's that simple; no holding a tiny power button in for several seconds to turn it on and off, like most other headsets require. This unit is extremely light and comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. The soft, flexible earhook holds the headset securely to the ear, allowing the speaker to rest gently against your ear. It is so light that many people may feel as though the headset will fall off easily. Although tipping your head at an extreme angle will allow the speaker to pull away from your ear slightly, the earhook prevents it from falling off. Even when the speaker falls slightly away from your ear, you can still hear the audio quite well. The audio quality of the speaker is quite good, although lacking some depth in the frequency range. The output quality of the mic seems pretty good as well; as many of my family members and friends have reported after I called them. Background noise picked up in the boom mic is present but minimal. The H700 is rated for 6 hours of talk time and 130 hours of standby time. I talk on mine about an hour per day (Monday through Friday) and I only charge it once per week.

I have not found ANY Bluetooth device to be without flaws. The reception of this H700 is better than many but still produces static and pops when moving away from cell phone more than 8 to 10 feet. I am a bit dissapointed with Bluetooth wireless technology overall. Even the claimed range of 30 feet seems a bit low, considering most of today's cordless devices work flawlessly at much greater distances. With Bluetooth you are lucky to get 10 to 15 feet before the reception starts to break up, and between 20 and 30 feet you will usually find your signal dropping out entirely. This is why Bluetooth wireless keyboards and mice will never replace the 2.4 GHz USB technology that has been proven to work so well in the consumer computer market. The Motorola H700 headset works as well, if not better, than many other Bluetooth models on the market today. I am giving this model 4 stars (actually I consider it to be 4 and 1/2 stars) and would highly recommend it to others. My biggest complaint is the cost of this Fire Red colored model. I paid nearly $70 for this color and yet I ordered another H700 in the standard black and silver color for only $32. So the color alone demanded an extra $36! The metalic blue, plumb, and gold colored versions sell for a premium as well. I guess we just have to accept paying more for the added style that these other colors provide. =o)
This being my second Bluetooth I was very impressed with the simplicity of paring it straightforward operation. I doint like to have to remember a lot of steps to operate something so this was a no brainer.
I really like the folding mike boom; I not one of those that walks around with a permanent bluetooth headset blinking on their ear. I keep the H700 in my pocket, and when I get a call simply reach for the headset...open the boom...and answer the call. I also like the volume that you can crank this thing up to; I usually have trouble hearing with back ground noise (i.e. my truck going down the road) but have no trouble hearing the calls with the H700. I also like the burgundy color vs the standard Moto gray.
The first bluetooth i had ever bough was this motorola H700 and i absolutly loved it. Unfortunately i lost it, it was so light it fell off my ear and i didnt realize it. My dad gave me his to replace it in the mean time but comepared to the one i had it was too heavy and hurt after a short time. I just purchased the fire red H700 and am extremly happy with it!
This headset works nicely when it works. But, it sometimes connects poorly and has static. It has to be disconnected and reconnected to function properly. It has to be re-paired sometimes also. I do like the long battery life but I will definitely go for a different headset when this one dies. I like the wire free convenience.
This is my first bluetooth headphones set, and they work wonderfully! I am not an audiophile by any means, so for me comfort and usability were the primary driving forces. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily these headphones connected to my MacBook Pro, and my Motorola RAZR. Sound quality is good, and comfort is great!
I have since gone and purchased the Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for the iPod and it works seamlessly with my headphones! No more earbuds for me!

All in all, this was a good purchase for me.
This product has DEFINITE downfalls.....

BLUETOOTH is an excellent technology, but it hasn't caught up with audio.

frankly the audio sounds like COMPLETE CRAP... so if you want to listen to music FORGET IT!

however if you NEED a headset that connects to bluetooth it is great... very comfrotable and easy to use

also there are no signed windows drivers for bluetooth yet so unless you're on a mac or a cell phone i wouldn't recommend wasting your time
I found these headphones to be very comfortable on the ears. They are well padded, and I could wear them for two hours before any discomfort set it. The sound is good, but not great. Highs are a bit muted, and bass is good but not great. Still, compared to the typical earbuds found in an ipod or other $30.00 phones, they are wonderful. The bluetooth feature works well for me, with no static, and it easily handles phone calls as well as music. I could hear the caller well, and they could hear me.

The only real difficulty was with the controls. With the phones on my head, it is difficult to locate the volume up and down buttons. They are recessed, and hard to press. It is easy to accidentally hit the next track and previous track by mistake. After using them often enough, you can finally get comfortable with the location of the controls.
I love these headphones. Great sound... a bit heavy on bass at times. I use them in conjuntion with 60gb ipod and Scosche ipod adapter. The only issues that I have with them are that the range is fairly limited (not much over 30ft) and microwave ovens can cause the signal to cut-out when they are running.

Headphones are comfortable and durable. Highly recommend and would definitely buy again.
Excellent sound quality, comfort, and ease of setup. My only complaint is similar to some others, being the size of the volume buttons; being rather small, it takes a bit of getting used to.
I've bought this for myself and multiple relatives. The genious of the design is the on/off by opening/closing the boom. A real winner!
I felt that this was a pretty good deal for the money. The reception is usually pretty good. My only complaint is that you can't get more than a few feet from your phone without the reception going to static. That's the reason that I did not give this 5 stars. Otherwise, it's a good product.
I only used it once in my apt but the reception was so fuzzy and not at all what I expected. From other reviews I thought it would be clear like a bell but it was much worse than my recption from my phone which is very good. This was just after I had charged it should have been very good. I will try it again but am a little skeptical, and I purchased this one because it had the best reviews....
I ordered the H700 after reading a number of good reviews. I got it from Circuit City, so it's not a 'counterfeit'. It pairs well with my Moto Q9C, and it is very comfortable- but thats the end of the good things I can say about it. The volume is too low for me to hear callers if there is any ambient noise, and the static which happens sporadically *usually when I'm on an important call makes this virtually unusable. I guess I will RMA and see if this one is a dud and the replacment is any better.
I'm happy with this headset, it seems an improvement over the 850 I had before. I don't have to have it at full volume just to hear it, not too many people ask me to repeat myself. It's nice to have a mute function. I'm more a casual user (an hour or less a week) so battery life is more than adequate for me. It seems sturdy enough, I tend to toss it in my pocket when not in use which did in the 850. If I lost mine, it would most likely be replaced by the same model at this point.
I received one of these for Christmas last year and have been through 3, yes 3 warrantee replacements since. The battery wore out in 2 months on the first one, The second one would not turn on after a month and the rubber on the third one separated from the plastic on the last one and the sound quality went to h***. There will not be a fourth.
I've been using my Plantronics 510 since December 4, 2005, and it has performed flawlessly throughout. Incoming audio quality is excellent and I've never had a complaint from anyone concerning sound quality on their end; indeed, most are surprised that I'm using a wireless device. I routinely recharge the unit at conclusion of each business day and, unlike a previous reviewer, I've yet to have a problem. Only tonight, I paired my 510 with an AT&T Bluetooth-capable home cordless phone system, which will allow me use this outstanding product in my home office, as well as when I'm on the road. I spend hours each day on conference calls and I'm looking forward to the comfort afforded by this extraordinarily well-designed device.
I recently purchased the Plantronics Voyager 510 with multipoint and windsmart technology to replace the Jabra 500v headset I had. The Jabra was good, but I could not get it to fit comfortably into my ear; and the people on the other end heard more wind than me! The Plantronics linked easily to my LG phone, and the smallest earbud provided was quite comfortable! It is so light, sometimes I forget I have it on! The sound quality is great on both ends! I left myself a message to determine if I could be heard instead of wind, and I heard myself great! This headset is definitely worth every penny!
In October 2006, I purchased the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset with Multipoint Technology. I really love the fit--it's light, and I forget I'm wearing it. Unfortunately, I have had problems charging the headset. It is now September 2007, and I am once again returning the headset for a replacement because the headset no longer accepts a charge. So in less than a year, I am now on headset number four (I purchased one, and I am replacing it for the third time) because it no longer accepts a charge. Plantronics has been great about replacing it. My only concern is that the warranty will run out soon.
I purchased this at the local AT&T store as I needed a headset immediately when my two year old Motorola finally died. After purchasing two replacement Motorola H700s that worked for 3 weeks each and died, I was up for a change. A friend had recently purchased a Jawbone and told me her friends picked up her call from an airport, and they said it sounded great. That was appealing to me, so off I went.

The 1st Jawbone was dead on arrival out of the box. It wouldn't light up to charge. AT&T cheerfully replaced it a few hours later the same day. 2 weeks later, the wire earloop, about the diameter of a paperclip, snapped where it goes through the main body of the Jawbone. They ship 6 in total, which are either right or left ear only. The second failed about two weeks later. The issue seems to be that the loop material is either too brittle, or to small in diameter in the name of fashion. The shape of the Jawbone is a little awkward to carry with you when it's not being worn. In a computer case, it can't really be flat, so the pressure from the side of the bag snaps it. The same thing happened when I put it in my jacket pocket. When I put on the seat belt in the car, it gently rubbed against the coat and number two was toast. The third one snapped in half when I was putting it on.

One more thing - bring a friend or a mirror when you go to look at one. It pulls my ear funny, so it sticks out, which never happened with the Motorola. I am going to try the Blue Ant next, and see how that one fairs. For now, the Jawbone looks like a future good product, once they re-engineer the ear loops so they aren't so fragile.
Is the very confortable, the sound is great people don't realize you're using a headset, great sound quality. You can hear music (loud) and still voice command your phone and WORKS really something good.... just the buttons are really difficult to handle, they're very hard and difficult to find and use.... something more sensible would be great for these product... But I'm very satisfied with it
I've had to exchange this twice and going on a third. Twice the earpiece broke off easily in the jawbone while in my purse, too where I couldn't pull the ear hook out. Now I have to return it because when I charged it part of the earpiece stayed in the charger. The metal that wraps around your ear must be cheap because it has left a rash on the back of my ear so I put clear nailpolish to coat it which has stopped it from giving me a rash. Also if left on for a couple of hrs really hurts my ear from the pressure of the jawbone. I don't know about everyone else but I have trouble hearing the person on the line with me. They can hear me fine and loud sometimes too loud I have to lower my voice. As far as background noise it has been the best bluetooth that I have owned to block background noise but what's the point because if it's noisy they can hear me but I can't hardly hear them! By the way I can hear just fine on a normal basis! It's also hard to get on quickly. It's even a bit difficult to put on it just doesn't open up to much to stretch onto your ear. I have long hair and it constantly get caught in it. So for me there are definatly more cons than pros!
I own the black Jawbone that I got at an Apple Store during a 50% off employee discount event around the iPhone launch (can't beat working at Apple for benefits), and I love the thing. It has its quirks - bulky, can't be rotated from one ear to the other without removing and then inserting another earloop, slightly stiff button - but that's a tradeoff for the fact that its noise cancellation is astonishing. I did 60 in my car with the windows down and had no trouble being heard clearly on the other end of the call - my Plantronics 320 wasn't even close to it.
Having used a wide range of Bluetooth headsets without satisfaction, I sprung for the additional cost of the Jawbone.

The short answer a lot of you are asking: yes, the money is well spent. This headset is, in short, worth it.

Pros:
- The noise cancelling is over-hyped, but still does work. Most people can't tell I'm in the car. Standing on the street corner, ambient noise is muted, but can still be heard.
- The fit is tremendous. Most headsets I've worn hang loosely from my ear. The combination of the ear gel and hook secure the headset firmly to the ear canal and side of my face.
- Call quality is excellent. I can very clearly hear people as if I was using the handset.
- I'm not sure if this is a function of my phone or the headset, but the range is tremendous. I can be 15 - 20 feet away and still have a clear conversation. Walls tend to cut down the range by about 30%.

Cons:
- Extended wear ends up leaving some soreness right behind the ear from the pressure from the ear hook. I suspect this is unique to my ear.
- PROBABLY THE BIGGEST DRAWBACK: the headset, due to its thick profile, is very suceptible to wind noise. Walking outside on a day with a stiff breeze will render the headset almost unuseable. Most people will say it sounds like I'm talking to them in a tornado.
- Part and parcel to that, the noise cancellation isn't all it's cracked up to be. If I'm sitting in front of the TV, the caller on the line will wonder what the noise is. It seems to pick up the voice noise from TV's even more than basic voice.

I can imagine that there are situations where this headset would not work for a user. However, in the majority of settings for me (office, car), this works tremendously. I strongly endorse this product.
I've had this earpiece for less than a year and it no longer works.

First, the battery cap started popping open frequently causing me to loose the connection with the phone. And now, the unit won't even power on.

When it did work the sound quality was decent. However, people on the other end told me there was an echo and/or a signifigant amount of background noise heard.

After having a Motorola Razr-which is possibly the worst cell phone ever produced-and this earpiece, I'll have to say that I will never buy another Motorola product.
(These aren't the only Motorola items I've owned.)
I will qualify this with the fact that this is my first Bluetooth headset, so I have no others to compare. I used the included battery for about two weeks before it just stopped working. It still made tones and turned on, but my phone could not find it. So there is basically no warning when it decides to quit. As for the actual life of a battery, I have no real data.

My wife has a cheaper generic model that has crappy sound and too much background noise. She said mine was much better in quality. For me, the ability to use AAA batteries was a big selling point. No "special" expensive battery to buy, and if you recharge, even better. It is pretty basic, and that is what I need. Nothing very special for my phone, but if you have voice calling, it is supposed to be compatible.
The H300 Works great with my RAZR and Blackberry. It's loud enough for me at 1/2 volume, and I started my first ten calls with "I have a new headset, does the microphone sound OK?" and everyone said it was good.

I like the fact that I can have it in my pocket or leave it in the car without having to plug it in every night to charge like other BTs, and I don't wear it on for long periods of time, so I don't have any gripes about a little extra size and weight for the battery ---and I like knowing that I can swap the battery as needed (I use rechargeable AAA and always have one handy).

If I have a day at the office where I need to wear a headset for a few hours and want background noise suppression, I use my Jabra instead (very comfortable and good noise reduction design), but that involves a daily plug-in / charging routine and I've already had to send it back with a dead battery for a warranty replacement ---something that'll never be an issue with the H300.
greatest blue tooth i have found. easy to hear from (if turned up all the way) and others can hear what people around you are saying for about 6 feet clearly. battery life is as advertised i tested that. only thing i do not like is to connect it to the phone if i can talking it disconnected the call and i cannot get it to work for non calling stuff (like when i play music)besides those 2 things i love it greatly and liked it so much i went and got an extra one!
I got this about 4 weeks ago. Still on first battery (I did take two weeks vacation not using it) but after two weeks of moderate use no sign of low battery.
Pros
Setting up this device with my PS3 was easy.
Its fun to chat with friends and in game.
Cons
The mic is almost satisfactory, the audio is muffled a bit.
The fit is terrible. I feel as though I have to sit still in order to keep this thing clipped to my ear.

Overall, I think I might check out a USB mic to see if I can get better audio quality and a better fit.
Bought it for my son to use with his PS3. I've used Motorola before and liked them, although I have to say PLantronics makes a clearer unit.

Well, my son used it for a day, then stopped. When I asked him why, he said it "doesn't stay connected" to his PS3. I watched what he did and indeed it drops the bluetooth connection.

Motorola has been zero help.
The sound came out very bad. People cannot hear you very well. I have returned this product.
I purchased this item as my first bluetooth headset, from Amazon. In trying it out, I found that the sound quality was poor, and the microphone did not pick up my voice well.

I returned it to Amazon, because of the poor quality, and Amazon only gave me 40% of my money back, because the package was opened. I don't know how Amazon expected me to try out this blister-packed item without opening it.

Stay away from this item, and from Amazon if you even think you'll need to return something.
I'm not really picky about a little static, or other features. I just wanted a headset that I could use for hands-free cellphone calls. This headset worked OK when I had my phone in my hand near my chest, but as soon as I put it in my front pants pocket, the headset cut out. The only way I could get it to work reliably was to hold my phone in my hand and around my chest area or higher. If you have a shirt pocket, that's fine. But if not, don't expect to put your phone in your pocket and have it work with this headset. PS: I'm 5'11", not 30' tall.
Works as advertised. I bought it mostly for use while driving in states that outlaw hand held phones.
I am glad I purchased this product, it is easy to use and delivers a great reception.
