I read this book when it first came out many years ago and I loved it..Very interesting perspective on the day to day living, as well as the important issues behind the scenes in the White House...Excellent historical information and wonderful nostalgia from the first half of the 20th century in the White House..I especially loved the Franklin Roosevelt era and how kind FDR was to the author when he insisted, due to her walking disability, that she use his elevator ..I highly reccommend this book..You won't be disappointed..Very well written and a keeper...
